What size pool table should I get for my Sydney home?
The right size depends on your room, not the city. A 7ft table needs a minimum room of 4.6m x 3.7m. An 8ft table needs 5m x 3.7m. Measure the room you have in mind, subtract 1.4m from each wall for cue clearance, and pick the largest table that fits comfortably. Yes. New South Wales climate creates exactly the conditions that degrade MDF pool tables: humidity variations and temperature swings between seasons. MDF absorbs moisture, expands and contracts, and develops dead spots that cannot be fixed by re-levelling. Slate is non-porous and unaffected by humidity or temperature.
