Most pool tables sold in Australia are MDF dressed up in felt. They look fine in the photo. They play inconsistently within a year. Here's what a different purchase looks like: solid hardwood frame, 20mm honed slate bed, premium cloth. Delivered to Windsor. Built on-site by our employed NSW team. Ready to play before they leave your property.
Why Slate. Why Hardwood. Why It Actually Matters.
MDF warps. Slate doesn't. That's the short version.
The longer version: most pool tables sold in Australia use MDF frames and MDF or composite playing surfaces. Cheaper to build, cheaper to ship, identical in a product photo. Where they stop being identical is in year two. That's when the frame has flexed, the surface has developed dead spots from temperature cycling, and the cloth has gone thin because it started thin.
Every table in our range is built on a solid hardwood frame with a 20mm honed slate bed. The hardwood doesn't flex under load. It doesn't warp in a warm garage or a humid rumpus room. The slate bed is flat to within 0.1mm tolerance, the same standard used in competition play. Sydney and NSW homes see significant summer humidity. MDF alternatives absorb this and develop flatness issues over time. Our 20mm honed slate bed is unaffected by temperature or moisture changes. It plays the same on day one as it does five years later.
The cloth is premium grade. We absorb the cost difference rather than spec it down. Most buyers don't know what cloth grade they're getting until the table plays fast and thin two years in. That won't happen here.
560g Cues. Not 150g. There's a Real Difference.
Every table ships with two cues. Ours weigh 560g each. A proper weight. Most competitor tables include cues around 150g. That's 3.7x lighter. Pick one up and you feel it immediately: no mass, no feedback, no weight behind the stroke. It's not a cue, it's a stick.
We ship 560g cues because they're part of how the table plays. The full accessory set ships with every order: balls, triangle, chalk, table brush. Nothing extra to buy before you can play.
Professional Installation: What It Actually Covers
Professional installation is a paid service, available at checkout. our employed NSW team comes to your address and builds the table completely on-site. That covers full frame and leg assembly, 3-piece slate levelling to 0.1mm tolerance, cloth fitting and tensioning, pocket and cushion alignment, and a test play before they leave your property. You don't touch a thing. The table is ready when the team walks out the door.
It's not a convenience upsell. It's a quality outcome. A slate table levelled on-site by trained hands plays differently to one assembled by whoever received the courier drop. After 5,000+ installations in garages, rumpus rooms, man caves, and outdoor alfresco setups, our employed NSW team know exactly what they're doing. The result is consistent.
Ground floor installations typically take 2 to 3 hours. Stair installations are available. Pricing is listed at checkout based on the number of flights. More than 5,000 tables have been installed this way across Australia.

7ft or 8ft?
A 7ft table is the most common choice for Australian homes. Minimum room size: 4.6m x 3.7m. It fits in a standard rumpus room, double garage, or man cave. Plays fast. Suits casual through to competitive home play. See the full 7ft pool tables range.
An 8ft table is competition size. Minimum room size: 5m x 3.7m. If the room is there, the 8ft is the better playing table. No debate. See the 8ft pool tables range for size guides and model comparisons.
24-Month Warranty. Double the Industry Standard.
Our tables carry a 24-month structural warranty. The industry standard is 12 months. We offer double because the build warrants it. Solid hardwood doesn't warp. Slate doesn't delaminate. If something goes wrong with the frame or slate within 24 months, we fix it. That's the deal.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does delivery take to Windsor?
Metropolitan Windsor orders are typically delivered within 5 to 10 business days of purchase. We'll contact you after ordering to lock in a delivery and installation window. Richmond, McGraths Hill, Bligh Park and surrounding areas fall within the same zone.
Is professional installation a paid service or is it free?
Professional installation is a paid service, priced and listed at checkout. It's not a free extra bundled into the table price. It's a separate service covering full on-site assembly, slate levelling to 0.1mm tolerance, cloth fitting, and a test play before the team leaves your property. The reason it's worth paying for: a properly installed slate table plays differently to one that arrived flat-packed and was levelled by hand. After 5,000+ installs, the difference is documented.
What separates your tables from what I'd find at a big box store?
Four verifiable spec differences: solid hardwood frame (not MDF), premium grade cloth (not base spec felt), 560g cues (not 150g), and a 24-month structural warranty (not 12 months). The frame won't flex or warp in a warm garage. The slate won't develop dead spots from humidity cycling. The cues have weight and feel. The warranty covers what matters. Those aren't marketing claims. They're build differences you can check.
