• You change your mind and cancel.

• We cancel your order or can't supply it.
• Your order isn't ready within 30 days of the balance date we first gave you, and you'd rather cancel.

When does the balance come out?
On the balance date in your deposit email. That's the date your order is ready to leave our warehouse. We email you 7 days before, so it's never a surprise.
What if my order's running late?
We'll email you the new date as soon as we know, and your balance date moves with it. We never charge the balance before your order is ready. If it's more than 30 days past the first date we gave you, you can cancel and get your deposit back in full.
Can I push my date back?
Email [email protected] before the balance date. If you need us to hold your order longer, say the room isn't finished yet, we'll do our best and confirm the new date in writing.
What if the balance payment doesn't go through?
We email you straight away with a link to update your card and try again the next business day. We email you again 7 days and 12 days after the balance date. If it's still unpaid and we haven't heard from you 14 days after the balance date, we cancel your order, your product goes to another customer, and we keep your deposit.
What if I'm away when the balance is due?
Reply to your deposit email before you go and we'll agree a date that works. Once a new date is agreed in writing, we won't release your order.
Can I pay the balance early, or another way?
Yes. Email [email protected] any time before the balance date and we'll sort it.
Can I pay a deposit on a pre-order?
No. Pre-order prices are already discounted because they're paid in full upfront, so pre-orders can't be split into a deposit and a balance.
Does the deposit include shipping and installation?
Your deposit and balance are worked out on your full order total, including any shipping and installation on your order.
How long do refunds take?
When a refund is due, we process it within 3 business days of confirming it, back to the card you paid with. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
Where do I find my balance date?
In your deposit email. Can't find it? Email [email protected] with your order number.
What is Downpay?
Downpay is the payment app we use in our Shopify store to take deposits and charge balances. You don't need an account. You just save your card through the secure Shopify link we send you.
Is my card safe?
Your card is saved by Shopify Payments, not by us. Downpay uses it to charge your balance on the balance date. Our team never sees or stores your full card number.
1. About these terms. These terms apply when you place an order with A Man & His Cave Pty Ltd (ABN 63 645 839 881) and pay a deposit, whether you order by phone, email, chat or online. They form part of our Terms of Service. If these terms and our Refund Policy differ on a deposit order, these terms apply. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Your deposit. Before we take any payment, we tell you your deposit amount, your balance and your balance date, and we confirm them by email once your deposit is paid. Your deposit secures your order and counts toward your order total. Deposits aren't available on pre-order items: pre-order prices are discounted because they're paid in full when you order.
3. Your balance and balance date. Your balance is your order total less your deposit and any other payments you've made. Your balance date is the date your order is expected to be ready to leave our warehouse, as set out in your deposit email or as later updated under clause 6.
4. Saved card and automatic charge. We take deposits and balances through Downpay, a payment app that runs inside our Shopify store. To take a deposit, we ask you to save a card through Shopify's secure payment page. By saving your card you authorise us to charge your balance to that card on your balance date, or on any later date agreed under clause 6. We email you at least 7 days before we charge it. If we agree any change to your order with you, such as adding installation, we confirm the new total with you in writing before we charge it. Your card is stored by Shopify Payments and our team never sees your full card number.
5. If we can't collect your balance. If your balance payment doesn't go through on your balance date, we email you straight away with a link to update your card, and we try again the next business day. If your balance is still unpaid, we email you again 7 days and 12 days after your balance date, and we may also call or text you. If your balance is still unpaid 14 days after your balance date, and you haven't agreed a new date with us in writing under clause 6, we will cancel your order, release your product to another customer, and keep your deposit under clause 7. We email you to confirm the cancellation. Anything you've paid above your deposit is refunded under clause 9.
6. If your date changes. If your order won't be ready by your balance date, we email you the new date as soon as we know and your balance date moves with it. We never charge your balance before your order is ready. If you need us to hold your order longer, contact us before your balance date. Any new date must be agreed in writing (email is fine).
7. When your deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel your order because you've changed your mind, including because you no longer want to wait for the balance date we gave you, or if your order is cancelled under clause 5, we keep your deposit. For deposit orders, this replaces the restocking fee in Section 2.5 of our Refund Policy. Anything you've paid above the deposit is refunded.
8. When we refund your deposit in full. We refund your deposit in full if: (a) we cancel your order or can't supply it; (b) your order isn't ready within 30 days after the balance date we first gave you, and you choose to cancel; (c) we change the price, product or specifications of your order after you've paid your deposit, and you don't accept the change; (d) your shipping cost is higher than the amount we quoted, and you choose to cancel; or (e) you're entitled to a refund under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. How refunds are paid. We process refunds within 3 business days of confirming them, to the card or account you paid with. Your bank may take extra time to show the refund.
10. Made-to-order items. For custom or made-to-order items, your deposit starts production of your item. Clauses 7 and 8 apply to these items in the same way.
11. Your consumer rights. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
