On 23 March 2003 at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, Australia crushed India by 125 runs to win the World Cup for a record third time. Australia's 2 for 359 was their highest-ever ODI score and the highest ever scored in South Africa.
Australia went through the tournament undefeated, winning all 11 games and extending their unbeaten ODI record to 17 games. A record crowd of 32,827 witnessed the final, Australia's second consecutive World Cup triumph.
